REVIEW: eufy Omni S2 Robot Vacuum

Robot vacuums have come a long way in a short time, and eufy‘s latest flagship, the eufy Omni S2, is a strong argument that we’re now firmly in the era of the set-it-and-forget-it home cleaner.
Building on the solid foundation laid by the S1 Pro, the Omni S2 arrives with a significantly upgraded spec sheet, a smarter navigation system, and a handful of thoughtful additions that make the day-to-day experience noticeably better.
Whether you’re upgrading from a previous eufy model or coming to the brand fresh, this is one of the more compelling robot vacuum packages available right now.
Design & Build Quality
The Omni S2 carries forward the clean, understated aesthetic of its predecessor while feeling like a more considered and refined object overall. The vacuum unit itself sits low and compact, with a smooth finish and a front sensor array that gives it a purposeful, almost industrial look.
The accompanying 12-in-1 UniClean Station is sizable but well-proportioned, and holds clean and dirty water separately, auto-dispenses cleaning solution, electrolyzes the water for sterilisation, stores dry debris, and runs self-washing and mop-drying cycles. It handles all of this largely without you needing to intervene, which is the point.
One of the more interesting additions eufy has made here is the inclusion of an onboard fragrance diffuser pod system. Insert one of the three supplied scent pods and the Omni S2 will diffuse a gentle fragrance through your home as it works.
The available scents are Bamboo and Sage, Citrus and Basil, and Bergamot and Lychee. It is a small touch, but a welcome one, and the diffusion is subtle rather than overpowering. It is the kind of detail that suggests eufy is thinking about the overall experience of living with the device, not just its cleaning performance.
The extension capabilities of the roller mop have also been meaningfully improved over the first-generation model. The mop roller can now reach further into crevices, edges, and along furniture legs than before, ensuring that the areas most robot vacuums tend to skim over are getting proper attention.
Similarly, the front sweeper brush extends to cover corners more effectively, so debris that would previously have been left sitting against a skirting board is being picked up consistently.
Performance
The headline spec on the Omni S2 is its suction power, which has jumped from the 8,000 Pa of the S1 Pro to a substantial 30,000 Pa on this new model.
That is a significant increase, and it shows in practice. Deep carpet pile that would have required a second pass is handled in a single run, and heavier debris that smaller motors might struggle with is dealt with cleanly.
The unit uses an auto ride-height system to adjust how it navigates carpet versus hard floor, which means rugs are cleaned thoroughly without being pushed around the room in the process.
The mopping system has been updated too. The HydroJet 2.0 Self-Cleaning Roller Mop uses electrolyzed water for sterilisation and applies up to 15N of downward force, with a dual-scrubber system keeping the roller clean between passes. Hard floors come up consistently well after a session.
Navigation has also taken a step forward. The CleanMind AI system, powered by 3D MatrixEye 2.0, can detect and avoid over 200 different object types in real time.
In testing, the Omni S2 handled cluttered rooms without any collisions, navigated around chair legs and bags without issue, and correctly identified and avoided stairs without incident.
Hair management is handled by DualSpiral Detangle Brushes, which prevent hair from wrapping around the brushes and instead route it into the base station for storage. After multiple cleaning runs, the brushes remained clear.
One honest caveat worth noting: the Omni S2 is somewhat louder than you might expect from a flagship robot vacuum at this price point. It is not disruptively loud, but it is noticeable compared to some competitors, particularly on hard floor surfaces.
App Functionality & Features
The eufy app is well laid out and accessible, with the main controls and scheduling options easy to locate without needing to dig through settings menus.
Setting up a cleaning schedule, adjusting suction intensity, managing water levels, and configuring room-by-room strategies are all straightforward. The app gives you a good amount of control over how the Omni S2 operates, and for most users it will feel intuitive from the start.
That said, there is one area that could use more refinement. When dividing a scanned floor plan into separate rooms, the tools available for defining boundaries and setting specific endpoints within a mapped area lack granularity.
In practice, this means that while you can broadly assign zones, getting precise about where a cleaning run should begin or end within a given space is more difficult than it should be. It is a niche issue and one that will not affect everyone, but it was noticeable during the initial setup process and is the kind of thing that a software update could reasonably address.
Conclusion
The eufy Omni S2 is a well-executed evolution of the S1 Pro. The suction increase is substantial and genuinely noticeable in everyday use, the mopping and self-maintenance systems work reliably, and the obstacle avoidance is among the best available in this category.
Small additions like the fragrance pods and the improved edge-cleaning capabilities give the package a sense of completeness that feels appropriate at this price tier.
The app is functional and accessible, with only the room-mapping granularity leaving room for improvement. If you are in the market for a high-end robot vacuum that does the heavy lifting with minimal daily involvement, the Omni S2 makes a strong case for itself.
